Welcome to Safi. By accessing or using getsafi.app (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Safi is operated by Akili Tech (the “Company”, “we”, “us”).

1. Service Description

Safi is an AI-powered music similarity assessment tool. It compares your lyrics, melody, song structure, and voice characteristics against released tracks indexed in major music databases and returns a 1–10 similarity score with a plain-language risk verdict (Safe, Minor Adjustments, Moderate Risk, High Risk).

Safi is not legal advice. A low similarity score does not guarantee your work is free of infringement claims, and a high score does not necessarily mean infringement has occurred. High-risk results should be reviewed by a qualified entertainment attorney before release.

2. Accounts & Plans

A free trial provides 1 similarity check per day for 7 days from signup. Paid plans (PAYG, Safi Label, Safi Studio, Safi Catalog) provide higher monthly check allotments or one-time check bundles. Plan details, prices, and check limits are listed at /pricing. Limits are non-transferable and do not roll over between billing periods unless otherwise stated.

3. Subscriptions & Payments

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or yearly through Stripe. You may cancel at any time from your account page; access continues until the end of the current billing period. PAYG is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

If a renewal payment fails, you have a 3-day grace period to update your payment method before access is suspended. During this grace period, Stripe will automatically retry the charge. We will email you to let you know.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Submit content you do not have the right to analyze (e.g., songs you did not write or do not have explicit permission to use).
• Attempt to circumvent check limits, share account credentials, or use multiple accounts to extend free access.
• Reverse-engineer the analysis engine, scrape Safi’s outputs in bulk, or use the Service to build a competing product.
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to harass any person or rights-holder.

5. AI & Methodology Disclosure

Analyses are produced by AI models (currently Claude, by Anthropic) combined with music-recognition databases (including AudD and others). When you upload an audio file, its URL is sent to AudD for fingerprint matching against commercial catalogs. Results are interpretive, not deterministic. Accuracy varies by genre, track length, and the specific dimension being analyzed (lyrics and melody tend to be more reliable than voice and structure). Citations to specific songs in our reports are best-effort and may occasionally be inaccurate; you can flag results you believe are incorrect.

6. Disclaimer — No Guarantee of Safety

Safi is a technical similarity-detection tool provided for informational purposes only. Safi does not provide legal advice and is not a substitute for consultation with a qualified entertainment attorney.

Results describe measurable technical similarity across the databases Safi checks. They do not constitute a legal opinion, a guarantee of originality, or confirmation that a track is free from copyright claims. Courts have ruled on subjective elements of music — including “feel,” “groove,” and “vibe” — that no technical tool can assess. A result of “No Matches Found” means no technical matches were detected; it does not mean your track is legally safe to release.

We make no warranty, express or implied, that any release based on a Safi report will avoid copyright claims, takedown notices, disputes, or litigation. Use of this Service is entirely at your own risk.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Akili Tech and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to loss of revenue, copyright infringement claims, legal fees, settlement costs, or reputational harm — arising out of or related to your use of, or reliance on, any Safi report or analysis result.

Akili Tech’s total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid Safi in the 12 months immediately preceding the claim, or (b) $10 USD.

You expressly acknowledge that Safi reports are not legal advice, that you release Safi solely at your own risk, and that you will seek independent legal counsel before making any release or licensing decision based on Safi output.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to your registered address and reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
